Steven Glenn
Founder & PrincipalSteven Glenn is a systems engineer and computational biophysicist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He founded DarkBiome to discover industrial biocatalysts by coupling large-scale metagenomic mining with explicit-solvent biophysical simulation.
He designed and built the discovery platform end to end — mining and screening, structure prediction, molecular dynamics, scoring and reporting — and runs it day to day. He is the sole inventor and the named applicant on the priority patent applications filed with the USPTO; those applications are provisional and have not been examined.
This is the whole team. DarkBiome engages no employees and names no advisors. Protein synthesis and any bench work are outsourced to qualified contract research organizations under bilateral agreements; DarkBiome operates no laboratory of its own. Compute runs on a single Apple Silicon workstation and on rented cloud GPU runtimes.
